Is the E48-32 error something I can fix myself?
Sometimes. Check that the cable is firmly screwed into the decoder's LNB IN, switch the decoder off at the wall for thirty seconds, and check the dish visually for obvious damage or a new obstruction. If the error persists — or comes and goes with weather — the cause is physical (alignment, LNB, cable or connectors) and needs a meter to locate. Do you handle E16, E30 and other "scrambled service" errors?
We diagnose them honestly: E16 and E30 are usually account or activation issues on MultiChoice's side, not hardware faults — clearing them is typically a call or self-service reset, and we'll walk you through it free rather than charging a call-out. If the error persists after activation, then something hardware-side is interfering and a visit makes sense.
What's the difference between a Smart LNB and a normal LNB?
The LNB is the small unit on the dish arm that receives the reflected signal. A Universal LNB feeds one older decoder; the DStv Smart LNB is required for Explora decoders and modern XtraView setups, feeding multiple tuners correctly from one unit. Fitting the wrong type "mostly works", which is worse than not working — it causes intermittent missing channels that are misery to trace. We carry both and fit whichever your system actually needs.
Can you install DStv in a complex or estate with body-corporate rules?
Yes — it's routine for us across {{location}}. Many complexes restrict where dishes may be mounted or require communal systems. We work within the rules: discreet placements, approved mounting points, or connecting you into an existing communal/multiswitch system where one exists.
